Stuart Clook is a multi-award winning visual artist who works with the 19th century photographic printmaking processes of platinum, palladium, carbon transfer, cyanotype and gum bichromate, all known for their subtle tonal range, luminosity and inherent permanence.
During his residency, Stuart will focus on exploring and developing his 19th-century color print process using trichrome images created both in the studio and outdoors. Additionally, Stuart will offer introductory level training in the development and printing of silver gelatin film and prints. Due to the specialized nature of these processes, workshops will be conducted at his studio and administered by Photosynthesis.
Stuart Clook’s residency at Photosynthesis is funded (in part) by a grant from the Creative Communities Scheme from Creative New Zealand, administered by the Christchurch City Council.
We gratefully acknowledge their support.
