Jamie Price’s Artist Residency

Jamie Price is a photographer hailing from Ōtautahi. Currently studying a bachelor of design at Ara institute of Canterbury, Jamie also works commercially as a product photographer alongside a part time role as a lab technician in a local film lab and print store. His personal photography has a strong connection to analogue practice and film photography.

This exhibit consists of a collection of photographs from Jamie’s personal archives taken during adventures with friends, holidays with family and exploration of local landscape both urban and natural. This side of Jamie’s photography has always been very personal, the intention being to create work for the sake of creating work, enjoying the process, and letting go of external expectations. He has approached the curation process in a similar fashion, choosing images based off instinct and sentiment, with the intention to provide a window into how he views his surroundings both physically and spiritually.
