Analog Club

  • Photosynthesis 10/400 Saint Asaph Street Christchurch, Canterbury, 8011 New Zealand (map)

At Analog Club, we open our darkroom and studio spaces for film development, scanning and silver gelatin printmaking. Anyone can come along for free. If you want to use equipment, pay just $20 for the 2.5-hour session. You develop and scan as many B&W rolls and craft as many silver gelatin prints as you would like, with fair use governing access.

Analog club is the best way to connect with other people who love using analog photography processes. Develop new skills and enhance those you already have: how is the person on the enlarger next to you going to shape your artistic practice, and how will you change the way they see their work?

Add an extra dimension to your work by experimenting with different film stocks and using our range of developers. Keep an eye on our Instagram and newsletter for updates on the every-changing developer menu. C41 development is coming soon.

To secure guaranteed access to equipment, you can book the darkroom for yourself. If you want to get a solid foundation of the basis of darkroom use, see our regular Darkroom 101 Film Dev & Scan and Darkroom 101 Printmaking workshops.
